I've made it two weeks into Winter Semester now, and I could not be happier with where I'm at right now. I love BYU so much! Last semester was a big adjustment to this phase of life, but now that I'm in the groove of everything it is wonderful. I love my classes, I love my major, I love my roommates. I've been able to see these past couple weeks how much I really learned last semester as I'm applying it to my classes this semester.
One of my favorite classes that I'm in now is my Strengthening Marriage and Families class. I can't wait until I am one day able to have my own family! But, I really love the majority of my classes. It's a special environment here at BYU where you can be spiritually uplifted in any class really.
It was so good to go home over Christmas break and see all my friends and family! I celebrated my 19th birthday with a traditional dinner at Red Robin and some ice cream cake (made by the lovely Abby Wilcock) with some friends! The two weeks really did fly by, and before I knew it I was saying some more goodbyes.... But it's definitely good to be back at school as well! It was a little different when I got back since Rachel was in the MTC and I had a new roommate. Her name is Millie and she is great! I got real lucky that she moved in! :)
Rachel is doing well and still in the MTC until February 17. We've been writing as often as we can to still stay in touch. I of course was very, very, very sad to say goodbye to her outside the wilk on that rough day during finals...but, it's so good to see how much she is growing and learning as I read each letter from her. Every day I get to hear from her is a great day!
I am doing well here in Provo, and time is flying by fast! I had a wonderful and very exciting 2013, and can't wait to continue to see what 2014 has in store for me. I made a slideshow of my past year so I'll link that in here below for you, as well as give you a glimpse of what I've been up to since then! (You can click on the pictures to make them bigger)
