It's about that time in the semester where we are so close to the end...yet so, so far. I have another round of tests this week and next week. Pretty much something is happening all day, every day. I can hardly believe that there is only about a month left of my first semester here at BYU! That's just crazy to me! I was reading back on some old journal entries that I wrote during this time last year. I had just finished my BYU application and then stressed and stressed and stressed for a couple months until I finally heard the good news that I made it in. And now, time has flown by and I am about 1/4 of the way through my time here.
I have learned so much. I've learned a ton within my classes for my major, which is all super interesting! But I've also learned a lot about myself. I've seen that this is a unique time for me to explore the world and figure out who I am and who I want to be. Through multiple experiences, I've come to understand that very often in life, things don't happen the way you expect them to. Things that have been one way for long periods of time suddenly change. New things appear out of nowhere. Your own interests change. The list goes on and on...and there's been a whole lot of all of this during this semester! But I take these as growing experiences. They are opportunities for me to become better at adapting to new environments and situations.
For example, my ankles have recently been giving me grief again...which I had hoped I wouldn't have to deal with anymore, at least to this degree. It's most likely not a big deal, and will be worked out with physical therapy and time! But it's still something I need to deal with. And let me tell you...I've tried to go to physical therapy twice now, and things happened making both of those times not work out. So I'm crossing my fingers on this next appointment!
Basically, life happens. You can either be caught up in the negatives, or focus on the positives instead! Trials will occur, and are occurring for me, but I know that the end will come. And I hope you all know that as well. No matter what is going on in your life, it is happening for a reason. One day that reason will be made clear, and you will be able to see how much stronger you have become because of that specific experience. We are all in the home stretch, it's almost Thanksgiving, where you'll at least get one day off from work/school (I sure hope). Then after that, Christmas is just around the corner. You can do it! I believe in you! :) Here's a motivational song for you! I already posted it on facebook...but here it is again. If you haven't listened to it--go do that now! You'll feel better about life. :)
